At St. Paul's CE Primary School we believe that regular school attendance is essential if children are to achieve their full potential. We also believe that regular school attendance is the key to enabling children to maximise the educational opportunities available to them and become emotionally resilient, confident and competent adults who are able to realise their full potential and make a positive contribution to their community.
We have an attendance officer who works closely with school to moinor and support school attendance. The attendance officer is part of a company called Att100sunderland. They are employed by the school for 2 hours each week to monitor attendance.
There may be contact made with families where attendance falls below the school's monitoring level of 95% and letters regarding attendance monitoring will be sent out to make parents aware that their child's attendance is being monitored by school.
The attendance of all children on our roll will be monitored. Some children in Nursery and Reception classes access education which is non-statutory [children must legally start school the term after their 5th birthday] but there is DFE guidance to suggest that schools should also work with parents who have children in Nursery and Reception to encourage good attendance patterns. This is something that will happen at St. Paul's CE Primary School.
Please contact school if you have any questions or queries about this.
