'Looking within and beyond the school, pupils and adults serve their local community through positive actions. This enhances lives through the love and respect they show to others.' (SIAMS 2024)
At St Paul’s CE Primary School, we value the importance of developing strong, purposeful links beyond our school gates and into the wider community. We believe this cultivates an ethos of being an active citizen in the modern world and allows pupils and the community of Ryhope to flourish together.
By opening our doors to a range of visitors; organising out of school visits and special events, alongside working with parents, local residents, the business community and voluntary services we believe we are developing well rounded individuals prepared for life beyond primary school.
Each class across school develops a partnership with a community link that they work with for the academic year. This is based on the interests of the children; local issues close to the childrens' hearts and also opportunities for us to promote intergenerational relationships.
It is important that St Paul’s CE Primary School, its children, staff and governors are recognised as part of the local and wider community.
