St. Paul’s CE Primary School has been a Kidsafe registered school since 2019.
Kidsafe is a programme dedicated to helping schools protect and promote children’s mental health and wellbeing.
Our goal is to educate children about mental health, emotional wellbeing, and empower them to reach out to a trusted adult if anything makes them feel sad, scared, or worried.
The Kidsafe programme is age-appropriate, engaging, and effective, covering a variety of important topics, including:
- Positive mental health
- Emotional wellbeing
- Understanding feelings of worry
- Peer pressure
- Internet safety
- Bullying and cyberbullying
- Keeping private places safe
- Parents/carers arguing
We believe all children have the right to grow up safe and happy, and at St. Paul’s, we are committed to teaching children how to stay safe while fostering a whole-school approach to mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Our dedicated team are fully qualified to deliver the Kidsafe programme and have a vast amount of experience of doing so.
Here are some reflections from our children regarding their Kidsafe sessions:
“All children should do the Kidsafe course - We want all children to be safe.”
“Tell a trusted grown up if you feel sad so you can stay safe.”
“We are the boss of our body!”
Below is the feedback we have received from parents of children who participated in the Kidsafe sessions:
“In her words – “I learnt how to keep myself safe.””
“A tricky subject to get the message to children but I’m pleased it’s been taught this way.”
“This can only be a good thing, the more it is spoken about. Overall it seems to be a great addition to their learning.”
“She was full of conversation after taking part in the Kidsafe programme. After the program she understands different feelings and emotions much better.”
