At St. Paul's CE Primary School we believe that regular school attendance is essential if children are to achieve their full potential. We also believe that regular school attendance is the key to enabling children to maximise the educational opportunities available to them and become emotionally resilient, confident and competent adults who are able to realise their full potential and make a positive contribution to their community.
Some children in Nursery and Reception classes access education which is non-statutory [children must legally start school the term after their 5th birthday] but there is DFE guidance to suggest that schools should also work with parents who have children in Nursery and Reception to encourage good attendance patterns. This is something that will happen at St. Paul's CE Primary School.
As part of our whole school attendance managment procedures we work closely with an external provider 'ATT100'. ATT100 are a Sunderland based organsiation who support a number of schools locally with their whole school attendance management. Please contact school if you have any questions or queries regarding this.
If your child is absent from school, we ask that you leave a message on the school answerphone by 8.30am confirming child's name, class, and reason for absence. We operate a first day response for all pupil absences and we will contact parents/carers if no message has been received by 9.15am.
