Pupil Premium Grant Funding was introduced by the Government in April 2011. Individual schools are allocated additional funding for children who are eligible for free school meals (FSM), cared for and previously cared for (LAC) and those from families with parents in the Armed Forces (SVC). From April 2025, primary schools receive £1515 per FSM pupil, £2630 per LAC and £350 per SVC pupil.

We encourage all parents and carers to ensure that the office staff know whether their child is entitled to FSM, is a “Looked After” child or has a parent who is a member of the armed services. As a school, St Paul’s CE Primary has prioritised the use of the pupil premium funding to address the following issues:

• To reduce the attainment gap between the FSM pupils and non FSM pupils.
• To address the inequalities between children eligible for FSM and their peers.
• To ensure the children have “readiness to learn” and that any barriers from home are addressed.
