At St Paul’s CE Primary School, the personal development of every child is at the centre of all that we do. We are deeply committed to nurturing children who are not only academically successful, but also emotionally intelligent, socially aware, and spiritually grounded. Through a rich and inclusive curriculum, we aim to develop confident, kind, and resilient young people who are ready to take their place in the world. From Nursery to Year 6, we provide a safe and supportive environment where every child is known, valued, and empowered to live life in all its fullness.

Our approach to personal development is enriched through a wide variety of carefully planned experiences both within and beyond the classroom. The “100 Things to Do at St Paul’s” list gives children access to a range of joyful, adventurous, and purposeful opportunities—from building a campfire to performing in a play or fundraising for a cause. Outdoor play and learning are central to our ethos, promoting creativity, teamwork, and risk-taking in a natural setting. We also offer a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs, allowing pupils to discover and develop their talents and interests. As part of our commitment to preparing children for the future, we host an annual Careers Day, where visitors from a diverse range of professions inspire pupils to dream big and consider the many paths they can take in life.

We also place great importance on ensuring that every child feels a strong sense of identity, inclusion, and belonging. Through our delivery of the No Outsiders programme, we explicitly teach children about equality, diversity, and respect for all people, regardless of race, religion, gender, family structure, or disability. This work is closely linked with our PSHE curriculum and Christian values, helping children to become compassionate and inclusive citizens. Programmes like Kidsafe further equip pupils with the knowledge and confidence to stay safe, speak out, and make informed decisions. Through visits, visitors, and real-life learning experiences, we ensure our pupils are developing the character, courage, and care to thrive in an ever-changing world.
