Welcome to St Paul's - SOMETHING SPECIAL HAPPENS HERE...

Welcome to St. Paul's Church of England Primary School website.

I am proud and delighted to be the Headteacher of such a wonderful and vibrant school where, ‘horizons are broadened and dreams are pursued. (Ofsted 2018)

Choosing a school for your child is an extremely important decision and we hope that by visiting our website you will begin to see some of the excellent activities and learning experiences that happen here.

I would be very happy to meet you and show you around our amazing, family feel school and answer any questions that you may have.

Our school is an “outstanding” (Ofsted 2018) school for children aged 3-11 years. Our excellent Early Years provision welcomes children from Nursery through to the end of Reception. We offer 30 hours of nursery provision and also nursery on a part-time basis.

As a Church of England School, we aim to serve our local community and our Christian Vision and values are evident in our everyday interactions and activities. Our vision is rooted in scripture and is based on the Parable of the Mustard Seed:

31 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32 Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”

Matthew 13:31-32

Our vision at St. Paul’s is to inspire the smallest seeds to flourish so that everyone can reach their full potential.

The school is in the Wearmouth Deanery and we worship in our school every day.  Our children feed into Venerable Bede Church of England Secondary Academy so that a continuous pathway of Christian education is offered to all our children. Our mission is to work continuously in partnership with the local community to ensure every child is valued as an individual child of God. We will promote a love of lifelong learning to prepare our children to be successful citizens of our ever-changing world. We will encourage responsible risk-taking, creativity and independence within a Christian ethos:

“The Christian ethos of the school permeates every aspect of the school community and distinctively Christian values are central to the life of the school community.” (SIAMS 2016)

St Paul's may be the first experience which your child will have of school and we are all keen to see that this is a very positive experience which encourages a love of learning from the very first day: “Children are extremely happy and well looked after.” (Ofsted 2018)

We believe that we can achieve the best for your child by developing a close partnership between home and school. Our website is intended to give you more information about the life of our school and the learning which takes place.  If you have any questions, or require any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact Kelly Brenkley, School Business Manager on 0191 5210055, or This email address is being protected from spambots. Throughout the primary years, there are regular meetings with parents and opportunities for you to share in your child’s education within our wider community, which we strongly encourage you to be involved in.

We are committed to sharing the success and achievement of every child within our care ensuring every child has their chance to 'shine': “Exceptionally high aspirations and expectations enable all pupils and staff to shine.” (Ofsted 2018)

I hope that by visiting our website you feel that St. Paul’s CE Primary School is a caring, friendly, family community where your child will flourish and meet their full potential.

We look forward to developing a partnership with you and welcoming you and your child into the St Paul's family.
