At St. Paul's CE Primary School, we believe that teaching children how to stay safe is one of the most important responsibilities we have. Safety is a fundamental value that we instill in our pupils across all aspects of their lives. Our dedicated safety curriculum covers a wide range of topics, from online safety and digital responsibility to understanding how to stay safe in the community and interact with animals. We aim to equip pupils with the knowledge and skills they need to make safe choices, whether they are navigating the digital world, walking through their neighborhood, or engaging with animals. By emphasising safety at every level, we strive to create a supportive and secure environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive with confidence.

As part of our STAR curriculum drivers 'Aspirations' is something that we believe we need to instil into our pupils.

We weave opportunities throughout our curriculum from nursery-year 6 to teach pupils about different careers and how learning will support them into adulthood.

We also hold Career Days/weeks throughout the academic year that give pupils an up-close look at different career paths and connect their learning to the real world. Community members and parents come into the classroom to share insights about their career and details about necessary education and training for career success. Meanwhile, pupils get the opportunity to listen to presenters, ask questions, and consider what careers take their interest. In our most recent Careers Day the pupils in our school got the opportunity to explore the roles of a doctor, illustrator, makeup artist, software developer, geologist, craft maker, lecturer and a factory worker!

At St Paul's CE Primary School we are very excited to announce that we have adopted the No Outsiders programme this academic year.

The No Outsiders programme is an inclusive educational initiative designed to promote equality, respect, and understanding among all pupils. Created by Andrew Moffat, a primary school teacher, the programme aims to teach children about the importance of celebrating diversity in our society.

At its core, No Outsiders encourages children to respect and value differences, whether it’s related to gender, race, religion, family structure, or disability. Through age-appropriate lessons and resources, the programme helps pupils to learn about equality and the importance of kindness, empathy, and inclusion.

St Paul's CE Primary School is committed to ensuring that every child feels valued and included. By implementing No Outsiders, we are fostering a community where no one feels like an "outsider." Through engaging lessons, we are encouraging respect for everyone, regardless of their background or identity.

At St Paul's CE Primary School, we offer an exciting curriculum full of rich experiences to develop our children, not just academically, but holistically too. We have created our '100 things to do at St Paul's' list as a team to work alongside our curriculum offer. These opportunities are mapped out to ensure that our children can flourish both in and out of the classroom in a variety of different areas. These 100 experiences are specific to year groups, however at St Paul's, we ensure that other enrichment opportunities are scattered throughout the academic year such as school discos, trips to the pantomime and other educational visits and residentials.
